Shim Law is looking for a Family / Civil Litigation Lawyer. Be eligible to practice in Alberta with one year post call legal experience in the Province of Alberta required.

  • Be able to serve our clients and is interested in establishing your legal practice with Shim Law;
  • Is strongly entrepreneurial in sourcing for clients.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills;
  • Working with and advising clients directly, as well as providing guidance and practical solutions for various legal issues;
  • Developing an innovative approach to legal issues in support of strategic business initiatives and objectives with a high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgement;
  • Experience with and ability to handle any practice area of your choice;
  • A willingness to take initiative in running your own files, and managing your own client base; and
  • An eagerness to take on new initiatives to advance skills and knowledge.

Careers at Shim Law

Real Estate Paralegal / Legal Assistant

1) Minimum 2 years of experience in real estate conveyancing handling real estate residential/commercial files (sale, purchase and refinancing) in Alberta and be able to handle all files from beginning to end including file opening, payouts, searches, bank runs and reporting;

2) Have experience in SPIN system, tax search and other due diligence searches;

3) Be familiar with mortgage instructions from various lenders;

4) Familiar with lawyer done deal (LDD) real estate program or similar;

5) Be adaptable and flexible in a changing landscape for property and commercial legal practices.
